2020 outdoor season still in limbo

Though Ottawa sports fields are now open to groups of five or less, Ontario Soccer has cancelled or postponed all sanctioned in-person soccer events until at least June 30.

The proposed 2020 shortened outdoor season is therefore still up in the air like a long, lofted header.

A final decision on what to do about the season will come in the next seven to ten days (early June at the latest).

If we have to cancel it altogether, we’ll try to organize a multi-weekend “tournament” in the fall, maybe with a couple of relaxed, zero-contact kickabouts or small-sided games to get the rust out before.

Until then, may patience continue to be your strongest virtue and good health your most faithful friend.

BA games cancelled until further notice-Soccer Ontario directive
2 months ago

Late in the evening of March 12, Soccer Ontario directed all sanctioned leagues, clubs, associations, etc. to halt all games, practices and competitions until further notice.

This applies to the BA, as we are an official member of Soccer Ontario. For now, we suspect that at least the games of March 19 and 26 are cancelled.

We’ll keep you posted on any updates through TeamSnap, the BA UPDATE newsletter and this website.

Thanks for understanding.
